Residential Exemption Tax Policy Public Meeting

The Residential Exemption Policy Study Committee will hold its second informational meeting at 7 p.m. Dec. 11 in the Estabrook Room, Lower Level, at Cary Hall, 1605 Massachusetts Ave., Lexington.

The previous community meeting held May 29 covered the background of the study and a residential exemption overview and can be viewed on LexMedia.

The Dec. 11 meeting will contrast the first meeting by covering the following items:

— Summarizing the committee’s research

— Introducing a means tested residential exemption concept and contrasting with the residential exemption discussed at the earlier hearing

— Inviting community comments on these two exemption concepts before the committee completes its final report to the Selectmen.

The public is encouraged to submit questions prior to the meeting by emailing lexresexemptionhearings@gmail.com . Comments and statements will be welcomed at the conclusion of this informational session.
